KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Faith is just four years old and has undergone more surgeries and cancer treatments most people never have to go through in their lifetime. Now her parents said it’s time to make sure Faith can spend the rest of her life feeling and being a normal four-year-old.

After endless trips to the doctor, Faith was finally diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma last November. It is a rare and aggressive cancer mainly found in children under the age of five.

For parents Erik Kiesling and Ashley Favalora, Faith’s stage four neuroblastoma is still unreal.

“I still wake up in the morning telling myself she’s going to be okay. It’s going to be okay. It’s going to work out. Then you see these pictures on the computer of this mass that’s just overwhelming her whole entire abdomen pretty much. That’s when it became real for me at least,” said Kiesling.

That mass has now tripled in size. After countless rounds of chemo and radiation, from surgeries to an antibody treatment to trips back and forth to a hospital in Portland, Faith is now in the beginning stages of hospice. Her team comes out once a week. But faith remains a happy-go-lucky little girl who loves to color and play dress up.

“More or less, she gives us hope and faith every day. Still full of energy and life. I mean, the resilience the way she is every time she’s sick, all the surgeries she’s been through has been really amazing,” her parents said.

The duo has altered many aspects of their lives to be there for Faith and their other children. They’ve now moved their wedding to mid-September so faith can be there.

“You don’t want to make it that last thing. But you want her there,” said Kiesling.

“I don’t see having it without her. It’d be too hard,” added Favalora.

The family just wants to spend as much time with each other as possible.

“When that day does come I want us to all mourn but mourn knowing that we went and did everything we possibly could to help her and help her enjoy her life as much as she could,” said Kiesling.
