Anna Christine Ward grew up watching her father work in the bridal industry and then went into the industry herself after she graduated from college. She recently turned that experience into Canton’s newest shop for brides.
Anna Christine Bridal, located at 559 Riverstone Parkway Suite 110, opened on Valentines Day and Ward has been working to create magical experiences for soon-to-be brides since.
Walking into Anna Christine Bridal is like walking into a dream, with its pink walls and vintage furniture sitting in awe of the wedding dresses lining the store. The giant mirror in the corner awaits blushing brides to make their appearance, while tissues sit ready for when tears flow.
Ward said she has worked on the sales side her whole career, but when her best friend Kelly Sorensen gave her the push to open her own bridal shop she jumped at the chance.
“We are local, I graduated from Sequoyah (High School),” Ward said, “Canton is a natural choice for me because I love this community and we don’t have anything like this around here. I thought if anyone could bring this here and bring it the way it should be done, it should be me. Because I love it. I eat, sleep and breathe it.”
Ward believes that Anna Christine Bridal’s charm comes from the small boutique feel, her passion for making brides feel special, their range of dresses and enormous fitting rooms.
“Our fitting rooms are 9 feet by 10 feet. That is the largest fitting rooms in Georgia,” Ward said.
Ward is also proud of offering what she calls the “VIB (Very Important Bride) Treatment.”
The VIB, Ward said, “is a paid-for appointment where we will shut the whole shop down for the bride and 10 of her closest friends and family. The appointment will be up to four hours long, there will be food, the bride will choose the music, she will get a goodie bag and we will give her the full wedding experience.”
Anna Christine Bridal carries a full range of sizes. “I hate the phrase plus size but we do carry plus size,” Ward said. “We carry up to a size 32. We want to be able to service all women.”
As a mother to girls, Ward thinks of the venture as a platform to empower women to love themselves just the way they are.
“I feel like this is a really fantastic platform for me. We have little girls and I want my little girls to grow up in a world where someone can call them ugly and it doesn’t matter because they have enough confidence to know that they aren’t. I want all women to know that they are beautiful the way that God created them,” Ward said.
Ward said said she seeks to educate brides to help them find a perfect dress.
“She knows more than anyone I know. Sometimes she says things and I wonder how she remembers it all. She is just so knowledgeable,” Sorensen said.
Anna Christine Bridal also carries select lines of tuxedos and bridesmaids dresses as well as bridal gowns.
Ward said, “I want people to be comfortable, I want them to know that I am going to take really good care of them, I’m going to make sure that their day is at the forefront of my heart. I want them to have the most special day that they have ever had. I want them to know that I legitimately care about the dresses I choose. I really care.”
