Melania Trump is a former model and the wife of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, 72. The couple married 14-years ago and have one son together, Barron Trump, 13. After the wedding, the First Lady also became the step-mum of Donald Trump Jr, 41, Ivanka Trump, 37, Eric Trump, 35, and Tiffany Trump, 25. The couple dated for seven years before they got married in a ceremony which cost $2 million, or £1.5 million.
Where did they meet?
Melania met her husband, Donald, at a party in 1998 and they began to date shortly after.
At the time, Melania was 28-years-old and Donald was 52-years-old.
Despite the couple’s 24-year age gap, they have stayed together ever since.
Donald proposed in 2004 and the couple married a year later on 22 January 2005.
From the moment the pair got engaged, no expense was spared and Donald even splashed $1.5 million, or £1.1 million, on an emerald-cut Graff diamond engagement ring.
Why did the wedding cost so much?
At their wedding, the couple did not hold back and reportedly spent $2 million, or £1,579,000, on the big day.
The reception was held at Donald’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, which he has owned since 1985.
For the ceremony, Melania chose to wear a show-stopping Dior gown which had a 13-foot train, 16-foot veil and was covered with 1,500 rhinestones and pearls.
The custom design was said to cost $100,000, or £78,000, and weighed an incredible 60 pounds.
Despite getting the pricey wedding dress made, Melania changed into a silk Vera Wang number for the reception.
The wedding had an impressive guest list, and the 400 attendees were treated to catering by French Jean-Georges Vongerichten and dined on a menu of caviar, beef and lobster, which is thought to have cost $100,000, or £78,000.
As well as this, the pair had a seven-tier yellow sponge cake which set them back by $50,000, or £39,500.
The First Lady still has expensive taste and is often spotted wearing chic designer outfits.
This month alone, Melania has spent an eye-watering £14,049 on her wardrobe.
