Because sometimes, you just need to jam out while you tie the knot.

When my spouse and I got married, we went the non-traditional route. Wedding planning just wasn’t in our veins, so we kept it nice and simple by hosting a get-together in our apartment.

Though a proper wedding wasn’t in the cards, we did still pay attention to the music that we wanted in our mini-ceremony.

Good wedding songs are ones that really reflect who you are, and that’s why I’m a strong advocate of getting a tune that’s filled with fun, mirth and love. A little bit of modernity can go a long way, and that’s exactly what makes these songs such great songs to walk down the aisle to.

1. “I Gotta Feeling” by The Black Eyed Peas

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

Friday, Saturday, Saturday to Sunday

Get, get, get, get, get with us, you know what we say, say

Party every day

This song is super-energetic and all about the hope you have for the future. It’s dance-worthy if you feel like jamming down the aisle instead of a more traditional walk. The tune is one that you’ll still hear from time to time on the radio and will never get old.

2. “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars
