A couple from Devon are set to appear on Don’t Tell The Bride tonight in a rather unusual rugby-themed wedding.

Charlotte and Wesley Keywood, who live in Dunkeswell will appear on the E4 show on Sunday, where we see rugby-fan Wes plan a rather public wedding day – in front of thousands of people.

Charlotte said she met Wes on a night out in Exeter and it was ‘love at first sight’.

“We actually met three years ago on a night out in Rosie’s nightclub,” Charlotte said.

“He messaged me afterwards to check I got home ok and it went from there really, now we have a house, a baby and we’re married.

“He did propose to me in a romantic way, but I was heavily pregnant and he made me climb up a cliff in Cornwall at the time.

“It was funny because he pulled a box out of his pocket and he told me he didn’t like me when he first met me but that he had grown to love me.

“And then when he opened the box it was empty, I couldn’t believe it and then he pulled the ring out of his sock.”

Wes, 22, who is a roofer got to plan a surprise wedding for his other half with a mega £13,000 budget – and it’s safe to say it wasn’t what 19-year-old Charlotte expected.

“To be honest because Wes is a bit of a joker I was expecting the wedding to be one big joke,” Charlotte explained.

“Initially I did get a bit stressed out because I had to move in with my mum for three weeks and we had no contact and couldn’t use social media or anything in that time either.

“But saying that the whole thing was fun, it’s just at the time I just wish I knew what he was doing.”

During the show, which airs at 9pm, we get to see the whole process of the wedding planning.  Wes has to choose the venue, the wedding dress and even plan Charlotte’s hen night.

Charlotte added: “I was really excited to try wedding dresses on and at first I thought he was going to be stupid and put me in an awful pink dress but then I realised he would have wanted me to look nice on the day.

“For my hen do I thought we were going out so I got really drunk at 11 in the morning, but it turned out Wes had planned a movie night in with my friends and my mum so I was really mad at first.  But then it was fun to just sit and relax so it was ok in the end.”

Charlotte went onto explain that after Wes sent her invite in a Cornish pasty, she thought they were getting married in Cornwall.

She said: “On the day I was really nervous as I had no idea what to expect.  But it turned out to be just perfect.

“I thought the venue was going to be at a zoo or something because he knows I am petrified of crocodiles, but he did everything properly he even booked someone to do my hair on the day.

“I knew he liked rugby but I thought that would have been too predictable but I guess I was wrong because we ended up getting married during a live rugby match in Leicester in front of 26,000 people.”

Don’t Tell The Bride airs tonight at 9pm on E4.
